Nanotechnology

Nanostructured materials possess exceptional functional properties due to their extremely fine microstructure. In addition, they enable the combination of properties, which can be utilised, for example, in transportation and energy technologies. Nanostructured light metal hydrides, for instance, are distinguished by their faster reaction kinetics, which makes these materials suitable candidates for hydrogen storage. Nanostructured multilayers are preferred over “bulk” layer systems due to their special optical properties.
