I am broadly interested in plankton dynamics and relevance of such on functioning of aquatic ecosystems. I employ deterministic modelling as a tool to synthesize the available information on the numerous physical, chemical and biological processes involved, as well as a medium to formulate and test hypotheses. My current research activities include:

  • Functional group modelling
  • Adaptive trait based modelling
  • Theoretical analysis of trophic interactions and adaptive processes
  • Model coupling, eg., physical-benthic-pelagic
  • 1-D and 3-D model setups of lakes and marine systems
