- Adaptive Trait-Based Modeling Mathematical approaches to simulating dynamic large systems. Integration of Adaptive Trait Based models into Earth System Models. Mechanistic and heuristic formulation of aggregate processes in different social and ecological systems.
PACES II 2.2: Species interactions in changing and exploited coastal seas
- Modular Coupling Modular coupling of computer models that describe natural and social system. This research is performed within the MOSSCO project.
- Human Ecodynamics The interaction of humans with their environments over long time scales and large regions, with a focus on the continuous processes that shape this interaction. Formulation and simulation of mathematical models of socio-ecological systems with a focus on adaptative socio-cultural change and methods for describing systems at aggregated (a whole society, city) versus individual (household, person) scales.
