After completing his PhD and post-doc in the University of Wisconsin, Prof Park has been based at Purdue University, Indiana, USA for over 30 years. He has been the editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Controlled Release since 2005. Last year he was in the top 1% of highly cited pharmacology and toxicology researchers, announced by Clarivate Analytics.

Prof. Park presented a fascinating lecture on his research on a degradable biomaterial called PLGA (a co-polyester) that has uses in many biomedical and pharmaceutical formulations, but is not used as widely as it could be, due to poor characterisation. He then discussed a range of scientific topics, insights into his career, and how he set up his own business with PhD students from the Graduate School MacroBio. More about Kinam Park
