General Information
The Copernicus Marine Environment Monitoring Service (CMEMS) is the marine application component of the COPERNICUS program. The aim of the CMEMS is to deliver generic and systematic reference information on the physical state and dynamics of the ocean and marine ecosystems for the Global Ocean and the European regional seas on a regular basis.

CMEMS is based on an architecture of seven distributed Monitoring and Forecasting Centres (MFCs) covering the Global Ocean and the European Regional Seas, fed by data collected from, and information provided by, four Production Centres (PC) - the so-called Thematic Assembly Centres (TACs). The TACs span the range from in-situ measurements to satellite remote sensing observations. The Ocean Colour Thematic Assembly Centre (OC TAC) is one of the assembly centres of the CMEMS and the folllow-up of the MyOcean OCTAC.

The task of Hereon in this contract is the validation of a Sentinel-3/OCLI algorithm for the Baltic Sea by means of in situ data provided by international partners.
