Dr. Tamara Kleber-Janke was appointed Deputy Director in 2014 and has since been responsible for the Research Coordination division at the Helmholtz-Zentrum Geesthacht. This division oversees two departments, including European and International Projects as well as Research Coordination.
Dr. Kleber-Janke studied biology at Kiel University and earned her doctorate in applied molecular biology at the University of Hamburg. She then worked as a post-doctoral researcher in the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Allergology at the Research Center Borstel (Leibniz). From 2000 to 2006 she directed management operations in the field of medical diagnostics (proteomics/peptidomics) at two biotechnology firms based in Hanover.
Dr. Kleber-Janke came to HZG in 2006, where she initially served as Personal Advisor to Prof. Kaysser. She has been leading the Research Coordination Department since 2008.
