Dr. Irene Fischer-Bruns
Scientific Assistant to the Director
Irene Fischer-Bruns
Since the foundation of CSC Dr. Irene Fischer-Bruns has been working on establishing the Climate Service Center. Her responsibilities include providing support to the director in his management tasks as well as assisting the strategic development of the CSC. Through these activities, Irene helps to ensure that the different departments at CSC work hand in hand. After having graduated in Meteorology in Hamburg, she worked several years at the University, and was IPCC assistant at the Max-Planck-Institute for Meteorology (MPI-M), also in Hamburg. Whilst at the MPI-M she also was involved in various scientific research projects. Her contribution to these projects ranged from research on the climate impacts of aerosols (suspended particles like sulphur, black carbon and mineral dust), atmospheric dynamics – especially storms in the North Atlantic region, and statistics.
