In the Centre for Membranes and Structured Materials we work on the following topics:
- Design and synthesis of tailor-made polymers for specific membrane-based separation processes and structural applications in lightweight construction
- Fundamental research to develop self-assembling membranes based on block copolymers for medical and environmental technology, "switchable" membranes
- Development and production of membranes for gas and liquid separation
- The design of membrane-based separation processes, including module development to the operation of test devices up to pilot plant scale
- New nano-composite materials with improved mechanical stability for lightweight applications
