Profile
Hydrogen Storage Materials
As part of the Helmholtz Research Programme "Advanced Engineering Materials", we are developing novel nanostructured materials for the storage of hydrogen, investigating their production on an industrial scale and performing tests under conditions close to commercial application.

Coating Technology
Our research in the area of coating technology focuses on the development of corrosion protection for materials used in lightweight engineering — work which falls within the ambit of the Helmholtz Programme "Advanced Engineering Materials” — and the development of the synchrotron mirrors required for scattering experiments used in materials research — part of the Helmholtz Programme "Large-Scale Facilities for Research with Photons, Neutrons and Ions”.
