Logistics and Organisation
An efficient monitoring of coastal regions requires an equipment aligned to its specific demands. The infrastructure of the Institute for Coastal Research contains the shallow water research vessel “ Ludwig Prandtl” as well as especial small boats conceived for the near coastal area. Measuring piles in the Wadden Sea and FerryBox systems an several Ships are transmitting important data from the North Sea round the clock.
For data-collection, -handling and -modelling high-capacity computers and networks are needed. The department Logistics and Organisation coordinates ship campagnes and contributes administrative work to deploy measuring piles and other instruments. It supervises the institutes computer capacities.
In close collaboration with the department of Press and Public Relations public appearances as well as Workshops and other events for the Institute for Coastal Research are organised.
