Helmholtz Center Coastal Researcher Receives Spectroscopy Prize

Preisverleihung Daniel Pröfrock

Dr. Daniel Pröfrock, an environmental scientist from the Institute for Coastal Research at the Helmholtz Center Geesthacht was recognized with this year’s Bunsen-Kirchhoff Prize for his outstanding scientific accomplishments. He accepted the award and the 2,500 Euro grant accompanying it during the ANAKON conference, one of the most important annual conferences in Analytical Chemistry in the German speaking countries.

A new regional climate change assessment for the Baltic Sea basin

In 2013, there will be a new climate change assessment report for the Baltic Sea, as an update to the successful BACC book (2008). The BACC topics will be further elaborated, and new aspects will be treated in the new report. More than 80 scientists from 13 countries have contributed to the first BACC report, bringing together the current knowledge on regional climate change and its impacts in the Baltic Sea region.
