COSYNA Consortium
The Helmholtz-Zentrum Geesthacht operates the COSYNA infrastructure and coordinates all work of other partners. Within the cooperation the Helmholtz Zentrum provides instruments for the partners.
The Alfred Wegener Institute for Polar and Marine Research operates the longterm sampling stations Helgoland Roads and a stationary FerryBox.
BSH is one major partner in COSYNA. BSH contributes with its knowledge in Monitoring strategies, the operation of the MARNET-stations and hydrodynamic models.
BSH defines guidelines for operational tasks
FTZ contributes in COSYNA by maintenance works at the FerryBox Büsum-Helgoland. They bring in their expertise with the OMS-System.
Hamburg Port Authority (HPA) operates a measuring pole in the Elbe estuary. They contribute with continuous data and make an assessment about the sediment transport in the river Elbe.
The ICBM from Oldenburg University contributes to COSYNA by operation of a measuring pole in the Wadden Sea of Lower Saxony. In the future a second, larger pole is planned in front of the North Frisian Islands.
IMARE contributes spectral measurements of radiation data from poles and from ships. They measure chlorophll-a, gelbstoff and turbidity as a comparison with remote sensing data from MERIS.
MARUM from Bremen University is working in COSYNA by coordinating all work with physical measurements at the sediment-water interface. They operate a lander system fitted with different sensors for high-resolution current profiles, eddy correlation for oxygen, particle size and high-resolution sonar.
NLWKN is operating several poles in the Wadden Sea of Lower Saxony. They contribute by measuring water levels, currents and waves.
