Central Techchnical Department - Partner for scientists
Today scientist, doing highlevel research, have a big need of very special equipment. Mostly this equipment cannot be bought on the free market, thinking of precision, temperature stability, shape, measuring range and several other demands. To cope these challenges the Hemholtz-Zentrum Geesthacht founded 40 years ago the “central technical department”.
As a provider of technical service for scientists in all categories, the central technical department is a large engineering office with an associated high-technology workshop. The department develops, designs and manufactures pilot facilities, test-, measuring and research equipment. Throughout the development process, the centre ensures that the constructions, systems and equipment complie with the EU regulations and standards and records this fact.
These points show that the central technical department is directly involved in carrying out research and development programs of the Helmholtz-Zentrum Geesthacht.
