pme Familienservice GmbH is providing the child-care facilities operated jointly by the Helmholtz-Zentrum Geesthacht and the city of Geesthacht. The Helmholtz-Zentrum Geesthacht company kindergarten “Einsteinchen CompanyKids” can accommodate two groups — one numbering 15 children between one and six years of age, and a group of ten children aged between eight weeks and three years. There are 18 places for children of the employees, and seven places are reserved for children from the Geesthacht area. The educational approach used also makes part-time places and place sharing possible.
In addition to having unusual opening hours (8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.), the educational concept of the “Einsteinchen CompanyKids” kindergarten — a result of the facility’s close association with a renowned research centre — is also quite remarkable.
