Ombudsman

The Helmholtz-Zentrum Hereon agrees to establish the rules of good scientific practice as the basis of its actions. All employees of the Centre for Materials and Coastal Research will be bound to comply with these regulations.

For this purpose the Helmholtz-Zentrum Hereon on the basis of the proposals and the memorandum of the German Research Foundation determined rules of good scientific practice and procedure in cases of scientific misconduct.

By agreement between the Scientific and Technical Council and the Board an ombudsman will be appointed every two years. It advises and supports scientists of the Helmholtz-Zentrum Hereon in all questions of good scientific practice and is contact person for breaches of good scientific practice.

Prof. Dr. Markus Quante will carry out this duty and will be available as a confidant for the employees of the Helmholtz-Zentrum Hereon.
Dr. Sabine Mendach has been Deputy Ombudsperson since January 2022.
