Hartwig Häger was appointed Deputy Administrative Director of Helmholtz-Zentrum Geesthacht in 2002. He is responsible for administration of the Personnel, Finance, Purchasing, Legal Affairs and Technology Transfer, and Internal Auditing departments.
Before being selected for the post of Helmholtz-Zentrum Geesthacht Authorized Officer, Häger served for more than 20 years in various administrative management positions at private companies and public sector holding companies, most recently for about ten years as the head of finance at the Deutsches Elektronen-Synchrotron (DESY) in Hamburg.
Häger studied economics and law at the Universities of Oldenburg and Hamburg, graduating in 1974 with a degree in business. He has the admission as a law agent.
Mr. Häger represents the Helmholtz-Zentrum Geesthacht in various employer and business associations, and in the Geesthacht Innovation and Technology Centre (GITZ). In 2007 he was appointed to the Regional Advisory Board Southeast for the Business Development Programme of the federal state of Schleswig-Holstein.
